Caserta is a magnificent city situated at the foot of the Subapennine mountain chain, probably best known for its Royal Palace, a masterpiece of the 18th century designed by the world-famous Italian architect Luigi Vanvitelli. This gem of inestimable value, with more than 1200 decorated rooms and recently included among the UNESCO World Heritage Sites, looks like the residence of Versailles and was built for the Bourbon’s family.
