Bologna
Bologna is a charming medieval town, easily explored by foot and probably best-known for its university, founded over 900 years ago and the oldest one in Europe, for this reason this appealing town is called “the learned”. The landmark of the city are the Two leaning Towers, almost seeming to defy gravity: the smaller one is called Garisendi, while the taller one is called Asinelli, names related to the families who wanted their construction. In the heart of Bologna can be admired beautiful Medieval, Renaissance and Baroque monuments, and also two noteworthy squares: Piazza Maggiore and Piazza del Nettuno with an eye catching fountain.
