Camping le Cernie first saw the light of day in 1970, founded by Claudio Sileoni, a diving enthusiast born in 1945 and still at the helm of the enterprise. It was initially conceived as a base for diving adventures, and for that purpose an air compressor, the first of its kind in Ogliastra, was acquired. Later, as our customers' needs changed, we developed our set-up, making it increasingly comfortable and endeavouring to anticipate market demand. Making use of our considerable experience, we have selected our clients, bringing levels up to the highest of standards. This is no place for rude or trouble-making holidaymakers: our structure is particularly suitable for families and children, while it retains the student and sporting spirit typical of the sort of holiday you have chosen. Because of our attention to detail, we have rejected the possibility of outsourcing the running of bars, restaurants and rental services to outside operators, since we would not be able to guarantee a service that took guests' general interests into account.

In 1970 we established a small but attractive and refined beachside campground in the shade of a splendid pine forest, designed to provide services to nature lovers and people who like fresh air in beautiful surroundings with every comfort. People who don't want to be constrained by the rules of a hotel while not forgetting that it is more pleasant to eat off a china dish than flimsy paper plates! We make life in the open air pleasant, also in day to day life involving contact with the other guests, with facilities that are always up-to-date and tidy. For us, friendliness is the watchword, understood as simplicity in dealing with others and good humour; on the other hand, incorrect behaviour, rudeness of any kind and invading other peoples' privacy is strictly prohibited.
