Murano
Murano is usually described as an island in the Venetian Lagoon, although like Venice, it is a vivid group of islands linked by bridges about a mile far from the regional capital. Hordes of tourists are attracted every year to this beautiful place by its well-known glass production and its lovable jewellery.For visitors interested in art, the island offers many possibilities: Santa Maria and San Donato church, famous for its 12th century Byzantine mosaic pavement and for the bones of the dragon slaughtered by Saint Donatus, San Pietro Martire church and its splendid Ballarin family chapel, and last but not least the Glass Museum.Murano really deserves to be visited!
